Removing the odor of insoles can be achieved through three methods: physical cleaning, chemical deodorization and daily maintenance. Commonly used and effective methods include alcohol wiping, baking soda adsorption, soap head neutralization, etc. These methods can quickly eliminate bacteria and inhibit the regeneration of odor.
Physical cleaning method
Alcohol sterilization: Use cotton cloth to dip in medical alcohol (75% concentration is best) to wipe the front and back of the insole, focusing on the sole and heel area. After the alcohol evaporates, it can not only deodorize but also sterilize.
Water washing and decontamination:
Removable insoles: Soak and scrub with neutral detergent, and spray alcohol after drying in the shade to enhance the effect.
Non-removable insoles: Use a toothbrush dipped in soapy water to gently brush the surface dirt, wipe with a wet cloth and ventilate to dry.
Chemical deodorization method
Baking soda adsorption: Sprinkle 1-2 spoons of baking soda evenly on the insole and let it stand for 4 hours to use its alkalinity to neutralize the acidic sweat odor.
Tea deodorization: Put dry tea bags (green tea/Pu'er is more effective) in shoes for 24 hours, tea polyphenols can absorb odor molecules.
Soap neutralization: Wrap the waste soap head with gauze and put it in the shoes. Soap surfactants can decompose odorous grease.
Daily maintenance tips
Drying and moisture-proof: Take out the insoles immediately after taking off the shoes and put them in a ventilated place together with the bamboo charcoal bag.
After rainy days, use a hair dryer to blow the insoles for 5 minutes at a cold wind setting (more than 20cm away).
Preventive measures:
Use two pairs of insoles alternately and change them every day.
It is recommended to soak and disinfect sports insoles in white vinegar water (1:10 ratio) every month.
